Project Wingman: 7 Best Mods (2024)

Getting bored of Project Wingman? Or just looking for some awesome ways to mod this wonderful game? Look no further than these incredible mods.

Project Wingman is an awesomely intense combat flight action game that has taken the gaming world by storm. It's enjoyable, beautiful, but often a little tough which is why many decide they want to add in some interesting mods.

Luckily, there's a hugely successful community of modders out there so you're really spoilt for choice. Nevertheless, if you're looking for the best of the best then some just stand out from the sea of variety. These can make you more powerful, give you more planes or missions, or just make you're flying a little more fun. Check them out and find out what's best for you.

7 Playable Unreleased Planes

Project Wingman: 7 Best Mods (1)

With just over 20 planes to choose from, it will certainly take a while for you to get bored of trying out new ways to fly and new aircraft to pilot. However, if you do, this mod is perfect for you.

It's essentially a mod that unlocks the unreleased planes for the campaign and conquest modes, allowing you to try something new. It's had one update which has added 15 extra planes to try out which range from quick to slow and will more than likely cater for any player looking for a change.

6 All Weapons Enabler

Project Wingman: 7 Best Mods (2)

The All Weapons Enabler mod does exactly what it says it does. It essentially lets you mess around with all the weapons in the game on any plane you choose. Apart from the SP-34R and the PW-Mk.1 so if they're your preferred planes then maybe this mod isn't for you.

Nevertheless, using any weapon you want will certainly help you if combat is an aspect you struggle with, or if you just want to feel like an absolute badass. Just keep in mind that it edits the DB_Aircraft and DWeaponDB files so if you want another mod that edits these files, the All Weapons Enabler mod won't work. This includes the Playable Unreleased Planes mod, unfortunately.

5 Overpowered Weapons

Project Wingman: 7 Best Mods (3)

The Overpowered Weapons mod makes playing this game a breeze, almost. It makes every weapon you use (mostly) unbelievably powerful. Specifically, this mod will grant your weapons these buffs:

  • Weapon Ammo
  • Salvo launch
  • Lock-on range (as long as the weapon had lock-on abilities before)
  • Increased rate of fire

These will grant you some immense power so should be used with care and only if you're not interested in the challenge. It's also worth mentioning that this mod may conflict with some gameplay-changing mods so try to stay away from just taking all suggested mods.

4 Unlimited Allies (Mostly)

Project Wingman: 7 Best Mods (4)

There are a fair few positives to this mod, but also a few negatives that are important to know before you install the Unlimited Allies mod. The first is that you don't actually get unlimited allies, you get up to 255 of each Conquest ally and one of each Airship Upgrade. That being said, 255 is still a pretty overpowered number!

The other element to look out for is the power of your PC. Spawning in that many allies will end up causing a considerable amount of lag so try not to spawn them all in if you don't need them. Nevertheless, these allies will undeniably save your life.

3 Playable Unreleased Missions

Project Wingman: 7 Best Mods (5)

Just like the Playable Unreleased Planes mod, the Playable Unreleased Missions give you access to all the locked missions that are in a playable state.

There are only three missions this mod will unlock but that's perfect for any player who wants to have a little more to do, specifically if they've finished all the other missions. The three missions themselves are by no means short and are pretty polished for some unreleased content so if you want a brand new mission to complete, download this mod as soon as you can, hopefully, the next update brings along a few more.

2 Payday

Project Wingman: 7 Best Mods (6)

When it comes to flying games with some awesome combat, most players aren't thinking about the financial problems attached to the planes and the weapons. Most just want to complete the missions and have fun! Luckily the Payday mod will do its best to help you with that.

It's a simplistic mod that really only serves to give you more credits at the end of a mission. It may seem like that's not a lot but it's the kind of mod that will make you feel like you're not cheating or allowing the game to be too easy. It just means you don't need to run out of money as often.

1 Nyoom

Project Wingman: 7 Best Mods (7)

With one of the best names in the selection, this mod will make you feel straight out of Top Gun. It's worth mentioning that this mod doesn't work with any other mods that edit the DB_Aircraft, like the All Weapons Enabler, so you'll have to choose one or the other, unfortunately.

The Nyoom mod allows all planes in the game to have the maneuverability of a next-gen fighter s well as enabling AOA. This is the kind of mod you'll have a lot of fun with if flying is your favorite part of the game. Either way, it's well worth giving a try.
