Black Friday at the Mall of America: A New Record Shattered!
Bloomington, Minnesota, is buzzing with excitement! The Mall of America (MOA) just made history, achieving its busiest Black Friday ever. On November 28th, a staggering 235,000 shoppers flocked through its doors. This is a remarkable feat, exceeding the previous record set in 2019 by nearly 2%! And this happened even though the mall was open for three fewer hours than in 2019.
But wait, there's more! This year's numbers represent an impressive 8.5% increase compared to 2024.
Over the entire extended holiday weekend, from Wednesday, November 26th, to Sunday, November 30th, the MOA welcomed over 500,000 visitors. People traveled from all over the country and the world to experience the shopping, dining, and attractions like Nickelodeon Universe, SEA LIFE, and the Crayola Experience.
Here's an interesting tidbit: Mall officials reported that eager shoppers started lining up at 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day! During the first hour of operation on Black Friday, a whopping 14,000 people entered the mall.
Once inside, visitors spent an average of three hours enjoying the mall's offerings.
Now, here's a thought-provoking question: Do you think the trend of in-person Black Friday shopping will continue to thrive, or will online shopping eventually take over? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
