Purchasing Property in Jamaica
There are no legal or other restrictions on the purchase of land in Jamaica by foreign concerns. The requirement is that the permission of the Exchange Control Department of the Bank of Jamaica be obtained, especially when such purchase involves the remittance of foreign exchange to Jamaica. At no time should a foreign concern remit foreign currency to Jamaica for this purpose without prior consent of the Bank of Jamaica.

The identification of a suitable property is the responsibility of the purchaser who is encouraged to do so through a legal firm or reputable real estate agent in Jamaica.
